"Biglet" is the second segment of the sixth episode and first segment of the fifteenth episode of The Book of Pooh.

Synopsis[]

Piglet is sick of being small and wishes to be big.

Plot[]

Piglet tries jumping up a tree to get an acorn, though with no success. Pooh passes by and gets it for him, but Piglet feels disappointed at not having been able to get it himself. He takes the acorn home and decides to make a salad with it. He finds a bowl atop shelf, but is unable to reach it even with a stool. He expresses in song his desire to be big, then takes a nap and dreams about being the size of a giant. He helps Rabbit and Eeyore lift a heavy rock out of Rabbit's garden, then knocks a bee hive off a tree to help Pooh get honey. After waking up from the dream, Piglet decides to become big by putting on stilts and a megaphone and changing his name to Biglet. Afterwards, he joins Pooh, Tigger and Rabbit in a tea party, but scares them with his big voice and creates a mess while trying to sit down, so he goes to find something to do that better fits his new size. Later, Biglet offers to help Pooh get a honey pot from a high shelf, then to help Rabbit with his garden, but they both decline. A disappointed Biglet goes back to being Piglet, saying he is no better being big. Pooh tries to cheer him up when Rabbit shows up and alerts them of a problem: Tigger had bounced on Eeyore and caused his tail to come off and fall into a small hole. Piglet goes down the hole and retrieves the tail, which the others congratulate him for, making him realize being small is not so bad after all.

Characters[]

Quotes[]

  • Piglet: (at the beginning of the episode's recap, while he uses a megaphone) "Hello? Hello!"
  • Mr. Narrator: "Hello, Piglet!"
  • Piglet: "Oh. Hello! I mean. H-Hello, Mr. Narrator! Sorry."
  • Mr. Narrator: "Quite alright, Piglet."

Song[]

Trivia[]

Goofs[]

  • Piglet appears to change size from when he tries to reach the bowl to when he starts singing "If I Could Be Big."
  • It is said that Piglet is the smallest animal in the Hundred Acre Wood, when actually, Kessie is smaller.
    • Because Kessie also doesn’t appear or even receive a mention, it’s possible the episode was written before it was decided she would be part of the main cast. This would make it one of the earliest stories to be created for “The Book of Pooh”.
