Hamid Hamilton Camp was born in London England on October 30, 1934. Hamilton Camp became well-known first as Bob Camp when he played in a folk duo with Bob Gibson. Their influential album, 'Gibson and Camp at the Gate of Horn', was recorded in Chicago in 1961. When they broke up, Camp continued to work as a solo act. He began using the name Hamilton Camp musically around the time his solo album 'Paths of Victory' was released in 1964. After working as a child actor, Camp began acting again in 1961 with the Second City in Chicago, and with The Committee in San Francisco in the mid-60s. This lead to television and theater work, and the occasional film. During the 70s (after his acceptance into Subud, a spiritual community) he was sometimes credited as Hamid Hamilton Camp. He has occasionally returned to music over the years, and released a new album in 1999 called 'Mardi's Bard', dedicated to the late Mardi Arquette (the wife of Lewis, and mother of Rosanna, Patricia, David, Alexis & Richmond). Disney fans will remember him as the infamous Gizmo Duck from the third season of Ducktales, and made cameo appearances in Darkwing Duck. Smurf fans (which used to be a big deal in the US and mostly confined to Europe now) will remember him as Greedy and Harmony Smurf. He also voiced the Pig in the comedy hit movie Dr. Dolittle. He has the dubious distinction of being a cast member on two of television's biggest failures: both "Turn-On" (1969) and "Co-ed Fever" (1979) were cancelled after only 1 episode. Hamilton went on to do the Prophet of Mercy in the Halo 2 video game and Merrit on Titus. Hamilton Camp passed away on October 2, 2005 in Los Angeles, California due to a heart attack aged 70 years old. He played the voice of the Grocer on The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. He also played the voice of Merlin from The Sword in the Stone after Karl Swenson's death.
