Jonathan Marwood "John" Cleese (October 27, 1939 - present) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, producer, writer, voice artist, and comedian. He voiced the narrator in Winnie the Pooh (2011), as well as in The Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Outside of Winnie the Pooh, he is perhaps best known for being a part of the British comedy troupe Monty Python.
In a 2020 tweet, Cleese remarked that he did not receive much in the way of royalties for his work on Winnie the Pooh, though he added it was one of his favorite jobs in his career, noting he and his wife were collectors of Winnie the Pooh, The Wind in the Willows, and Alice in Wonderland art prints.
