Pooh is one of Her Majesty’s royal swans that Christopher Robin Milne saw on vacation.

Biography[]

Christopher Robin apparently gave the swan this name because, if he called for the swan and it didn't come, he could simply pretend he was saying, "Pooh!" to be rude. When Christopher Robin and his father "said goodbye", they decided the swan would no longer want the name Pooh, so they "took the name with [them]" and later passed it on to the teddy bear, hence the "Pooh" part of Edward "Winnie-the-Pooh" Bear's nickname.
