"Rumbly in My Tumbly" is a song from the 1966 short film Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. It is also incorporated into the 1977 film, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which is an amalgamation of three Winnie-the-Pooh featurettes, including Honey Tree. In the song, Pooh complains light-heartedly of a rumble in his tumbly, indicating hunger. Pooh feels compelled to feed his urge and get some honey from a honey tree.

The song was written by Robert and Richard Sherman who have written most of the music for the Winnie-the-Pooh franchise over the years.

Lyrics

Original Version (Disneyland Fun's Version)

Hum dum de dum, hum de dum dum
I'm so rumbly in my tumbly
Time to munch an early luncheon
Time for something sweet

Oh I wouldn't climb this tree
If a Pooh flew like a bee
But I wouldn't be a bear then
So I guess I wouldn't care then

Bears love honey and I'm a Pooh bear
So I do care, so I'll climb there
I'm so rumbly in my tumbly
Time for something sweet

I don't need a pot of honey
I'd be greatful for a platefull
When I'm rumbly in my tumbly
Then it's time to eat

It's the tasteful thing to do

Be it ten or twelve or two

For anytime is food time
When you set your clock on Pooh time

Bears love honey and I'm a Pooh bear
So I do care, so I'll climb there
I'm so rumbly in my tumbly
Time for something sweet

To eat

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh's Version

Hum dum dee dum hum dum dee dum
I'm so rumbly in my tumbly (hits head on branch) Spoken: Ooh!
Time to munch an early luncheon
Hum dee dum dum dum

Oh I wouldn't climb this tree,
if a Pooh flew like a bee
But I wouldn't be a bear then,
(Laughs) so I guess I wouldn't care then

Bears love honey and I'm a Pooh bear
So I do care, so I'll climb there
I'm so rumbly in my tumbly
time for something (smack's lips)
for something...
(branch breaks)
...sweet!

Spoken:...To eat! (hits the branch)
If only I hadn't- (Hits another branch) Ooh!
If I mean what I had to do- (Hits another branch) Poof!
How it all comes, I suppose...(Hits a small branch)
From liking honey so much. (Picks a leaf from a branch with two hands which sends him crashing to the gorse bush in the ground)
Oh, bother.

Short Reprise

Near the end of the story Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, the lyrics were like this:

Bears love honey and I'm a Pooh Bear
Yum-Yum-Yum-Yum
(Slurp-Slurp-Slurp-Slurp. Mmm... Slurp-Slurp-Slurp)
Yum-Yum-Yum-Yum
Time for something sweet.
