"The Book of Boo" is the fourteenth episode of the second season and the fortieth episode overall of The Book of Pooh.

Plot[]

One Halloween, everyone was gathered at Owl's house to listen to a story from The Book of Boo. The story was about a goose who found Halloween boring due to being hard to scare, but while taking a nap, three ghosts sneak up on her and scare her anyway. Everyone is thrilled spooked by the story except for Eeyore, who found it boring and says nothing much scares him. He also reveals he dislikes Halloween and returns home while the others prepare for Kanga's Halloween party that night at her house.

Piglet visits Kanga and Roo to bring apples for the party. Kanga tells him of a contest of the scariest costume in which the winner will receive a prize, so Piglet decides to think of a scary costume. He showcases a few costumes to Tigger: first a leaf as he thinks it is scary when they rustle in the wind, then a dentist, and finally a ragweed since he is allergic to them, but Tigger does not find any of them scary. Meanwhile, Rabbit visits Eeyore and suggests he moves his house, saying the swamp he resides in is making him gloomy and unable to see the good in Halloween. Eeyore takes Rabbit's advice and tries several places, but it keeps getting knocked down each time due to blocking different paths, then later Rabbit's shortcut, to Kanga and Roo's house. In the end, despite Rabbit's concern, he decides to move to the Scary Woods due to how remote it is and thinking nothing will scare him.

At Kanga's party, Piglet shows up as a mountain to reflect his fear of heights, but is still worried he is not scary enough. Kanga almost announces the winner of the contest when Pooh brings up Eeyore's absence. Rabbit tells the others Eeyore moved to the Scary Woods, which makes the others worry ghosts will scare him like the goose in the story. They all head out to save Eeyore, though Piglet falls behind due to his bulky costume. He trip and slides down a hill, which gets his costume covered in moss and leaves. Eeyore hears the others calling his name as it echoes around the woods, which frightens him a little. He bumps into Piglet and ends up fainting at the sight of his costume. When he recovers, he laughs and admits to everyone he enjoyed the scare. Tigger nominates Piglet as the winner of the contest due to how well he scared Eeyore. Kanga agrees and awards Piglet with the prize. The cast proceed to sing while Eeyore appears in a flower costume.
