The Book of Pooh is an American television series that aired on Playhouse Disney. It is the 3rd television series to feature the characters from Disney Winnie the Pooh franchise based on A.A. Milne's works; the other 2 were the live-action Welcome to Pooh Corner (to which this series bears resemblance) and the animated The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh which ran from 1988-1991. It premiered on June 1, 2001 and completed it's run on March 25, 2002. The show was produced by Shadow Projects and Playhouse Disney.

Overview[]

Each episode begins in Christopher Robin's room as his Christopher Robin's Mom calls for him to get ready for school. He leaves the room while swiping his bookbag over a book titled "The Book of Pooh". The book opens as the characters come to life and sing "Everyone Knows He's Winnie the Pooh". This is followed by 2 11-minute stories (or one 22-minute story on 2 occasions), each featuring at least one original song at one point. After which, Mr. Narrator and one of the animals recap on the events of the stories, then Pooh and his friends appear in Christopher Robin's room as they sing "Goodbye for Now". They jump back into the book just as Christopher Robin returns home and closes it, after which the credits roll.

Kanga and Roo initially were not featured, though they would be introduced to the series for the second season.
